Huck Finn reader response # 3

Huck Finn reader response # 3

1. I think the whole house in general impressed huck everything that was in it and how much detail there was ( page 75 paragraph 3 " It was a mighty nice family and a mighty nice house too I hadn’t seen no house in the country before that was so nice and had so much style" there was, One thing Huck seemed most interested in was the clock with the picture of the town painted on it and the sun, The clock had two parrots on each side with a cat by one and a dog by another, He seemed to think it was weird that when the parrots made nosie they didn’t open there mouths or move, Some other things that huck seemed impressed about was the brass door handles and the big brick fire place also the table cloth with the eagle painted on it.(pg. 76 paragraph 2 "The table had a cover made out of beautiful oil-cloth with a red and blue spread-eagle on it and a painted border all around." I don’t think huck is used to being around people and things that are so close and have so much meaning these people put so much work into making there home nice and welcoming, I think Huck is seeing how happy and put together there people are and how successful they are.

2.Huck seems very interested in the books In the Grangerford’s home. How perfect they were stacked up and how they were all together, There were a lot of books of all different kinds in one place ones about god, bibles, pilgrims, poetry, speeches, books on medicine and more, I think Huck wasn’t used to this much of a choice in books with the window the only thing he ever read and learned about was the bible and his dad never threw a book at him and said hey you read. So he didn’t even no there were these many books about all these different things and he was interested in just what all of them were about. (Page 76 paragraph 2 "I read considerable in it now and then" Huck’s view of education and Mark Twain’s are both similar and different Mark grew up getting a good education and knowing he would need one and it was something he probably wanted, Huck He probably doesn’t take education as seriously as Mark does but he’s slowly but surely finding out that it’s a good thing to have.

3. The thing that is so weird and unique with the poems and the scrap books were the poems were always sad and really deep in a depressing way and the scrap books had pictures of accidents and people suffering, It seems the girl was obsessed with death, The one painting of the girl with six arms about to jump off the bridge probably had a lot of meaning in it. Twain describes it so specifically because it was her last drawing and probably one of the scarier ones It was the one that people weren’t so sure about because they didn’t know what the girl way trying to say or feeling with all of her arms. If the arms down meant hell or the arms up meant heaven no one knew because she never got a chance to finish it.( Page 77 paragraph 1 "These were all nice pictures I reckon but I didn’t somehow seem to take to them because if ever I was down a little they always give me the fan-tods" I think Mark twain’s view of death was complected he wasn’t sure of it He wasn’t quite sure in what he believed in when you died., He Knew suicide was something that people felt strong upon but not so sure why people did it. Mark probably thought art was a beautiful thing and pictures of death had so much feeling in it but yet so unknown he is amazed by it. Huck was so touched by this art cause it was unlike a lot of others not many people have the courage or the right pain and feeling to draw death and it actually have an affect on people and her drawings I think had an affect on Huck.
